The Providence Bruins are the American Hockey League affiliate of the National Hockey League, Boston Bruins and play their home games at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The team entered the AHL in 1991-92 and won the National Division Championship in their first season and has been the total attendance leaders in the AHL.

Providence College’s Providence Friars Men’s Basketball and Hockey Teams are NCAA Division I Teams. The Men’s Basketball team has won the Big East Championship in the past and has been to the NCAA Tournament and has appeared in 2 Final Fours. The Men’s Hockey team has won two Hockey East tournament titles and has been to the NCAA Tournament nine times, including three trips to the Frozen Four.
